ABOUT LAETHE

Laethe is and LA based painter, father of 3 small children and lover of and amazing woman he met in New York City.

Early in his career he had shows at the Addams Gallery in Philadelphia and Meisel Gallery on Prince street in New York. He then decided to use his attuned visual esthetic at the corporate level for brands such as Jo Malone, MAC Cosmetics and Anastasia Beverly Hills. As a creative for some of the largest beauty brands in the world, he became plugged-in to the nuances of effective story telling and the emotional connection that we all need in order to feel attached to a product (or person, or place, or piece of art).

As an artist, he has always kept that sense of emotional connection present in every mark that he makes. He does not try for realism, or even accuracy, in the composition or in the execution. He thrives in the tangle of expressionistic portrayal, imprecise memory and the fundamentally impassioned act of self revelation through art.

He paints the vibrancy of our America, by reconstructing details of this diverse, multicultural experience. He uses collage and drawing techniques to paint the feelings from memories, the vibes from daydreams and the essence of the people we love.
